Easements

The Kaingaroa Timberlands estate contains easements that provide public access across other land areas such as DoC Forest Parks and the Rangitaiki River.  While people can travel on these easements without acquiring a permit, they must abide by the conditions and TIMBERLANDS' risk management measures:

  • The purpose of the easements is to provide access to other land – no stopping on the easements is permitted
  • No access during hours of darkness
  • No Hunting without a valid permit
  • Easements may be closed for risk reasons (i.e. fire danger, safety).  Please respect any closures, which will be notified by forest signage
  • NZ Road Code rules apply
  • Non-compliance may result in trespass or legal action
